Cost and Pricing Analyst

Position Overview:

To coordinate and administer all quote activities to support sales with the goal of ensuring that we are providing accurate cost estimates for new work packages.  Using past cost data, provide recommendations for new pricing based on customers contracted terms. Using actual cost data, prepare reports to management on where cost variances need to be addressed or pricing changed.

What You Will Do:

  • Set up quote into standard quote templates which include developing and organizing all information in folders under assigned quote numbers.
  • Review all labour, material and NRE estimates, together with rate structures for each bid. 
  • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to obtain labor estimates, test, NRE and other costs.
  • Serve as key member of final bid/quote review team.
  • Communicate with all customers on the progress of quote packages, seeking clarification on questions from the quote team and communicating the responses
  • Working with finance, review the monthly work order variances to identify opportunities to improve the financial performance of the business
  • Use Excel and other applications to summarize analyses and present results.
  • Identify and work to resolve problems that develop, escalating problems encountered to manager in a timely manner, when necessary, with recommendations for solutions.
  • Participate in customer discussions as required.
  • Serve as point of contact for activities in area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as required. 
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean and 8S activities in your area.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Business Administration
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office, advanced understanding and use of Excel; experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with JD Edwards would be considered an asset 
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to build customer relationships through a solutions-based approach
  • Able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and the Canadian Security Clearances.
