Position Overview:

To fully support the OWSS PM as the focal point for all CP140 Optimized Weapon System Support (OWSS) Program related activities in work or contemplated by IMP Aerospace. 

What You Will Do:

  • Assist the OWSS PM within the Aerospace Division for all OWSS activities contemplated or underway, and to act as the OWSS PM in his absence. 
  • Co-ordinate technical responses to OWSS related RFPs, SOIs, and other technical requests. 
  • Assist with other CP140 programs as directed.
  • Establish, maintain and operate management control systems for the OWSS Prepare and as required, update the OWSS Program Management Plan (PMP) as well as all other PM related CDRLs. 
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all CDRLs.  Act as OPI for internal processes as assigned, updating Standard Plant Procedures as required. 
  • Monitor OWSS costs/schedule performance, through periodic reports and analysis.
  • Liaise with functional managers involved with the resolution of problems, preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and completion of other OWSS related tasks.
  • Prepare OWSS reports (both regular and AdHoc) and correspondence for internal and external distribution regularly and as-required brief IMP Senior management on OWSS Cost, Performance, and Status. 
  • Chair internal and external Progress Review Meetings (PRM) as directed by the OWSS PM. 
  • Monitor incoming Message traffic and reports related to OWSS activities/policies.
  • Manage the Administration activities associated with the OWSS IES Website Be cognizant of all CP140 or P3 activities, at all IMP Aerospace Divisions, that could impact the OWSS Program.
  • Complete routine Administrative duties as assigned.
  • Direct and manage a dedicated team of Asset Management Specialist (AMS) and other staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

What You Will Bring:

  • Education: Post Secondary Education, Aerospace/ Engineering Degree desirable
  • PMI Program Management course, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Knowledge of logistics and Materiel Management in a Defense environment would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of performance based contracts would be an asset
  • Previous experience managing Programs in an EVM environment is essential
  • Experience in chairing meetings with internal and external customers
  • Experience interfacing with Customers and or Government executive level personnel.
  • Experience in aerospace industry or CF maritime aviation field, with CP 140 Aurora familiarization is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in management positions managing or interfacing with multi-disciplinary team is desirable, with experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • An understanding of Asset Management in Canadian Forces or aviation industry context is desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills, co-operative and team oriented.

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
