Position Overview:

The Technical Record Specialist reports to the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor for the duties of CH149 Technical Records Management, covering the CH149 fleet and also the -519 variant of the AW-101 aircraft.  Primary tasking for this role is on maintaining the structure and conducting data updates in the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System, along with a key secondary focus on data analysis and reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Configuration management and implementation of data updates of the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS), GOLDesp, and the Compound - Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (C-IETP).
  • Assist the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor in providing CH149 HUMS data for ASIP and ILS activities in support of the CH149 fleet and facilitating these activities with the aircraft OEM and IMP Solutions.
  • Provide expertise and advice to in-house CH149 Engineering Life Cycle Specialists in retrieving trend data available in the Oracle/HUMS systems to assist technical investigation on aircraft systems.
  • The conversion of ATO and AMO policy and technical directives into GOLDesp and C-IETP data elements.
  • TAM-compliant management of the Electronic Record Keeping System required for the support of the CH149 Cormorant helicopter.
  • Coordinate the delivery of GOLDesp and C-IETP updates to the user units.
  • Support to parts Repair & Overhaul activity and Structure Building in GOLDesp for HIA heavy maintenance (PIM) aircraft.
  • Conduct data gathering and analysis on the CH149 fleet and fleet operations in support of CSH program metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Conduct additional data gathering and analysis as part of CSH program initiatives.
  • Provide reports to the CSC on CH149 materiel, upgrades, modification and component usage trends.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CH149 CIS & Technical Record Supervisor.

What You Will Bring:

  • CET (Diploma in Engineering Technology) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 or more years experience in an aircraft engineering and maintenance environment with directly related experience in aircraft systems.
  • CH149 Cormorant experience would be preferable.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of rotary wing aircraft systems and components.
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks.
  • Database and general computer skills are essential, with the ideal candidate possessing both experience with enterprise level databases (Oracle) as well as common applications such as MS-Access.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of programs including at least MS Word and Excel.
  • A working knowledge of GOLDesp is desirable.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations, standards and military modification processes is desirable.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization. Capable of providing clear and detailed written and verbal communication.
  • Must possess good self-discipline with an ability to work independently when required.
  • Hold or have previously held an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or equivalent qualification as an aircraft technician within the Canadian Armed Forces, CSH or commercial aviation organization.

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP),  Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and  Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
