Position Overview:
The purpose of this role is to provide entry level HR support to IMP Aerospace’s Human Resources team. This is an entry level position for someone with an interest in Human Resources. This position will expand over time to take on additional responsibilities with potential to grow within the department.
What You Will Do:
- Acts as the first point of contact for the Human Resources department.
- Assists with employment verification letters, notifications to Manulife, etc.
- Supports the HR Coordinator in processing the queue related to absence forms, change forms and leave forms.
- Assist with the set up of new hires in the system, and issues employee clocking cards.
- Manages the Company RRSP Program, Long Service Awards Program, and Fingerprinting and Boot reimbursement process.
- Maintains confidential, accurate, and up to date employee files and HRIS data.
- Prepare and distribute biweekly and monthly HR statistical reports, union CA reports, and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Maintains electronic and paper filing systems.
- Provide general administrative support including but not limited to drafting presentations, distributing mail, handling general inquiries, assisting with travel arrangements, process travel expense claims, credit card summaries and expense reimbursements for the Department.
- Coordinate conference rooms, scheduling/update meetings and associated requirements, i.e. catering, security passes, ensuring any and all required documents are ready and available.
- Initiates purchase requests and orders/maintains office supplies for the department.
- Maintain department vacation request/calendar.
- Other duties as assigned, or required
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of Grade 12 education
- Formal training or experience in Human Resources is considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- The ability to work in a fast paced and demanding professional environment with little supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast paced, diverse environment.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through with projects and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities in your area.
- Incumbents must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
