Position Overview:

What You Will Do:

  • Plans, assigns and supervises the work of Maintenance team.
  • Manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) System.
  • Ensure cost, schedule and quality objectives are met as efficiently as possible.
  • Manage key and lock distribution.
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline and conduct within the maintenance team; counsel individuals as required.
  • Ensure that all members of the Maintenance Team receive appropriate training and maintain applicable certifications.
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Manage sub-contracted services daily, negotiate contracts.
  • Participate in company proposals when assigned.
  • Liaise with Facilities Manager to facilitate completion of assigned projects.
  • Update applicable SPPs to reflect facility changes as appropriate.
  • Ensures work is done in accordance with all applicable codes, orders and procedures.
  • Ensures that a high standard of general maintenance practice is followed, and that the workplace is kept clean and organized, and all health and safety related issues are promptly identified to his superiors.   
  • Maintains a high standard of discipline and conduct within their group; councils individuals as required.
  • Performs various clerical duties including timekeeping, report generation on timekeeping, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post secondary, Technologist certificate, or equivalent combination of skills and experience in the field of Production and/or Facilities/Property Management or Industrial Operations.
  • Past Journeyman qualified in a trade with a good understanding of related trades would be considered an asset.
  • Experience managing direct reports in a production and/or maintenance operation required. 
  • The ability to work in a team environment to achieve the operations goals.  
  • The applicant must be self-motivated, well organized with demonstrated problem solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Project and operational management skills.
  • Knowledge of operational budgetary constraints.
  • Knowledge of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, preferably in military applications would be considered an asset.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian controlled goods program (CGP), U.S. international traffic in arms regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
