Position Overview:
Reporting to the CMLU GSM Project Manager, the GSM Project Management Specialist will assist in coordinating the induction of parts identified as Government Supplied Material (GSM) required for the Cormorant Mid Life Update (CMLU) program. This role will provide overall support to the GSM program to ensure GSM is delivered to CMLU on time as well as balancing requirements of the In Service Support Contract (ISSC).
What You Will Do:
- Scheduling of the removal of components from the ISS activities to allow on-time delivery of parts to the CMLU build line
- Provide general support to the GSM Project Manager for all aspects of the GSM program
- Liaise with Engineering for required technical input for modifications
- Coordinate with ISS material department for issuing and tracking of purchase orders relating to the GSM program
- Coordinate with the CSC Life Cycle Material Specialists for induction and control of repairable components to be used as GSM
- Performance Management: ensure suppliers and supporting departments carry out work on time and on budget
- Customer Interface: communicate with Department of National Defense staff concerning all aspects of the GSM program, including periodic program reviews
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring:
- College Diploma in business related studies, or equivalent in training and experience.
- Experience in working in, and achieving results in a matrix environment
- Ability to manage and forecast financial requirements
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite of applications
- Candidates must be able to pass and maintain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances Experience and/or training with MS Project would be an asset
