Position Overview:

The Cormorant Mid-Life Upgrade (CMLU) program is a partnership between IMP and Leonardo Helicopter to fully assemble the CH149-615 helicopter from the ground up.  Reporting to the CMLU Warehouse Supervisor, the successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the movement and control of materials supporting the helicopter build line.  These include aircraft parts, consumable items, tools, and chemicals. Activities include moving items to and from storage; kitting/staging items for use on the aircraft; shipping and receiving; inventory control; and other duties as required.

What You Will Do:

  • Receive, sort and issue/route incoming parts and supplies, reviewing all documentation (invoices or other documents) carefully to ensure its acceptability.
  • Move items as required, using the appropriate equipment, which may include carts, pallet jacks, trolleys, and so forth.
  • Pick, assemble, and stage (shadow) material kits for use in work orders on the aircraft build line.
  • Control non-conforming or damaged items.
  • Operate and maintain the  tool crib  area, which distributes tools, chemicals, and other items.
  • Count stock, complete stocktaking investigations where necessary, and complete scheduled tool audits.
  • Keep current on company directives regarding inventory and tool control, and material best practices generally.
  • Crosstrain on all aspects of warehouse responsibility.
  • Assist and provide on-the-job training to other personnel as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required. 

What You Will Bring:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment would be highly beneficial.
  • Computer literacy is essential, and prior experience working with an ERP system (e.g., Peoplesoft, JD Edwards) would be beneficial; the particular ERP systems required for CMLU can be learned on the job.
  • Essential physical components of the job include: lifting 10 kg with no trouble; bending and reaching; standing for long periods (while picking and kitting, for example).
  • Forklift experience or certification would be beneficial but is not required.
  • Self-motivated, recognizing and addressing issues quickly.
  • Basic knowledge of WHMIS other regulations, as they relate to shipping and transport, would be beneficial.
  • Possess a current provincial driver s license.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation. 
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
  • Familiarity with the ISO9001.2015 and AS9100 quality environments would be an asset. 
  •  Familiarity with International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR) is an asset.
  • Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program (CGRP). Incumbents must be able to pass and maintain Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and Transport Canada security clearances.
