Position Overview:

The Maintenance Planner (MP) reports directly to the Senior Maintenance Planner. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Planner is administration of all maintenance technical records, including data entry, and maintaining files of all records and documents, and to develop and document the short term maintenance plan for use by the maintenance crews, both on-aircraft and off-aircraft maintenance.

The definition of the short-term maintenance is that maintenance required for a given aircraft serial number coming due within 3 months. Such maintenance would include:

  • All elements of the Periodic Inspection manual (PIM).
  • Any know unscheduled requirements or out of sequence items.
  • Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Special Inspections, etc.
  • Modifications, aircraft, engine, and accessory upgrades and inspection program sampling elements.

What You Will Do:

  • Administration of all technical records and publications.
  • Completion and auditing of aircraft maintenance documentation for the electronic record keeping system (ERKS).
  • Completion and auditing the data entry for all Work Order related information and documents.
  • Updating and auditing the aircraft Servicing Set and Log Set. 
  • Maintain filing systems for all records and publications.
  • Maintain and update the aircraft weighing and balance record.
  • Maintain and update the Technical Data Repository (TDR).
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled reports, including maintenance planning guidance/forecasting of daily work and work associated with PIM/Heavy Maintenance.
  • Provide administrative support to the Site Manager.
  • Conduct Elementary and Servicing Tasks for the CH 149 where trained, qualified and authorised. 
  • Fly as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry and deployed operations.
  • Deploy and work at other main operating bases and/or deploy in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights.
  • Operate office related equipment.
  • Work shift work, as required and/or assigned.
  • Provide on-job-training to other employees, including the ERKS. 
  • Attend training for trade and professional development and for qualification/certification purposes.
  • Remove all debris accumulated by tasks performed and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Ensure hangar, shop, stores and office areas are clean and swept.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time.

What You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in aircraft maintenance control is required. 
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning, documentation and maintenance planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft modification programs and documentation completion and compliance reporting procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS) procedures. 
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints and Standard Plant Procedures. 
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performances of the duties. 
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver s license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors. 
  • Education and Experience
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP),  Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and  Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
