Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material/Inventory Control Manager to oversee the inventory management, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials for the P-3 aircraft operations within the Air and Marine Operations (AMO) division. The P-3 aircraft are crucial in disrupting transnational criminal organizations by providing persistent aerial surveillance over vast maritime smuggling routes. The Material/Inventory Control Manager will ensure that all necessary materials and inventory are available to support these critical operations.
What You Will Do:
- Inventory Management - Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels to support all program requirements and resolve inventory control issues before they occur.
- Asset Management – develop and implement strategies for the care and custody of company and Government furnished inventory and equipment and ensure related data integrity is maintained within an ERP System.
- Strategic Sourcing - lead the strategic sourcing effort identifying the relevant sourcing strategies, negotiating supply agreements and procurement processes
- Supplier Performance Management - Develop performance monitoring systems and monitor supplier performance to ensure that agreement terms and conditions are met or exceeded
- Warehouse / Distribution – design, manage and continuously improve the distribution network of Material supply from vendors to consumption points
- Transportation – utilize strategic sourcing for the provision of transportation of supply to minimize cost and lead-times of shipments
- Continuous Improvement - analyze business processes and determine opportunities to minimize costs by developing supply programs that better align the supply and demand for goods or services
- Performance Management - Manage the supply chain reporting and analysis within an ERP system for the purpose of optimizing inventory levels, forecasting, reducing shortages/stock-outs and increasing inventory turns.
- Systems Management – utilize Material Requirements Planning functionality and related processes within JD Edwards to forecast material demand and manage material supply
- Customer Interface – Communicate with Program Management and CBP Customer concerning all operational and programmatic requirements, including periodic program reviews
- Develop performance metrics with targets for achievement.
- Strategize with the Material Management team on how to meet and exceed the performance targets
- Provide leadership to a diverse Material Management team promoting efficiency and improving performance.
- Report and monitor Material performance metrics.
- Report, investigate and action dormant stock and identify areas for improvement.
What You Will Bring:
- Post Secondary Education, Engineering Degree preferred
- Minimum seven (7) years experience in Aerospace Material Management or Management of similar field Related professional designation preferred but not required. (e.g. CSCP, CPSM, LSCM, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of Material Management practices including Inventory Control, Procurement and Warehousing Extensive experience in management positions managing or interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team is desirable, with experience in problem solving and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of property provisions for US Government property an asset
- A solid understanding of relational databases
- Excellent computer skills / Microsoft office Suite (Excel, Access, Word)
- Advanced understanding of ERP systems and specifically MRP
- Excellent knowledge of data control and data management Superior analytical skills.
- Excellent time management and project management skills Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
- Knowledge of performance-based contracts is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
