Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Program Manager to support the P-3 aircraft operations within the Air and Marine Operations (AMO) division. The P-3 aircraft play a critical role in disrupting transnational criminal organizations by providing persistent aerial surveillance over vast maritime smuggling routes. The Deputy Program Manager will assist in managing and coordinating these operations to ensure mission success.
What You Will Do:
- Assist Program Manager: Support the Program Manager in leading and directing technical and administrative project teams.
- Project Execution: Execute and monitor project activities, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple projects, managing changes to scope, cost, and schedule.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with client staff, project managers, external agencies, and consultant staff.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for program initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Prepare and update project plans and status reports, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of projects, ensuring optimal program effectiveness.
- Operational Support: Assist in the direction of program activities, including organizing and managing aspects of contract operational support functions.
- Financial Planning: Coordinate and develop financial plans for the program, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Quality Assurance: Follow up on program Quality Assurance activities as appropriate.
What You Will Bring:
- Education: Post Secondary Education, Aerospace/ Engineering Degree desirable;
- Minimum seven(7) years experience in Aerospace Management or Management of similar technical field;
- Previous experience managing Programs in an EVM environment is essential;
- Experience in the aerospace industry or maritime aviation sector is preferred, particularly with familiarity in P-3 operations;
- Extensive experience in management positions managing or interfacing with multi-disciplinary team is desirable, with experience in problem solving and conflict resolution;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently in alignment with the Program's objectives, while seeking general guidance as necessary;
- Familiarity with the MS Office Suite is required;
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills would be an asset;
- Proven experience in leading meetings with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Knowledge of logistics and Materiel Management in a Defense environment is an asset;
- Knowledge of performance based contracts is an asset;
- Demonstrated experience in interacting with executive-level personnel from both customers and government entities;
- An understanding of Asset Management in US Defense or aviation industry context is desirable;
- Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative, and team-oriented;
