Job Description

 

The Director of Supply Chain & Operations Support provides leadership of the Logistics function and department staff, guides the effective and profitable management of Cascade Aerospace's third-party maintenance, repair and overhaul activities and the company's facilities, and engages in business development activities.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

2.) Develop and lead the execution of comprehensive supply chain strategies, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier development, aligned with operational and program objectives.

  • Formulate supply chain objectives, policies, procedures and standards which will contribute to Cascade Aerospace's profitability and growth.
  • Develop, implement and execute an effective departmental operating plan which is aligned with Cascade Aerospace's corporate strategic plan and financial forecasts.
  • Provide corporate guidance on supply chain related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with the EVP and COO and the leadership team concerning departmental and corporate plans and issues.
  • Create a teamwork environment and encourage staff to become knowledgeable about other Cascade Aerospace business units and how they impact each other.
  • Determine departmental staffing requirements, position-related responsibilities and performance measures.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide employees with performance feedback and encourage the development of effective work practices.
  • Oversee supplier selection, qualification, negotiation, and performance monitoring to ensure quality, delivery, and pricing expectations are met.
  • Supervise, train and coach supply chain staff.
  • Oversee the areas responsible for facilities maintenance and tooling, which includes approval on proposed upgrades and final review of the yearly facilities plan.

3.) Ensure full compliance with Transport Canada (TC), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements across all supply chain activities.

  • Support government and defence contracts by aligning supply chain operations with DND, and other programs, including compliance with contractual terms and readiness metrics.
  • Promote and establish common procedures compliant with regulatory and customer requirements.

4.) Manage supply chain budgets, forecasts, and KPIs; identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies without compromising compliance or readiness.

  • Monitor and manage inventory stocking levels, including appropriate projections, forecasting and contingency planning to meet assigned budgets.
  • Prepare and monitor the department's annual budget and work with the Finance Department to ensure compliance.

5.) Lead implementation of continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supply chain agility and performance.

  • Identify and implement business development activities which will provide opportunities for new business.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential customers and leverage these relationships to obtain future business.

6.) Assume leadership and direction of external quality audits from customers and regulatory agencies.

  • Drive corrective actions to close audit findings as required.

7.) Be familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with Cascade Aerospace's Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures and fulfill the requirements of the company's employment equity program.

8.) Perform other duties as required.

Core Skills

 

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) in English; able to interface effectively with executives, partners, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities, with a track record of building engaged and high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of TC, and defence regulatory frameworks including ITAR, and CGP.
  • Deep understanding of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, supply planning, and parts provisioning.
  • Prven business acumen in budgeting, forecasting, proposal development, quotations, and complex contract negotiations.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills; professional, courteous, and results-focused.

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related; Master's degree or MBA, or equivalent experience.

Experience

 

  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, in addition to 5+ years in an Aerospace, MRO, or Defence environment.
  • Proven experience managing supply chains within a regulated, compliance-heavy industry.
  • Proven experience dealing with defence contracts and aligning supply chain operations.
  • Extensive experience with defence contracts, sustainment logistics, and program lifecycle support.
