Job Description

The Liaison Engineer provides customer, OEM and production interface for repair and modification issues and manage engineering liaison activities.

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

 

Strive to consistently act in a manner in which reflects Cascade Aerospace’s culture and values.

Plan and execute the acquisition of approved data for non-routine repair and modification issues on customer aircrafts. 

  • Liaise with customers regarding non-routine repair and modification issues to provide and establish customer specific procedures with customer’s engineering departments.
  • Liaise with Cascade Aerospace Maintenance Department on non-routine repair and modification issues, establish a repair design, practical design and undertake by examining impact of surrounding structures.
  • Create initial repair plan or adjust modification plan designs using CAD, digital pictures, or freehand drawings.
  • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), concerning non-routine repairs and repair/overhaul enquiries, ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations and establish recommendations to be approved.
  • Remain current with applicable aviation regulations.
  • Ability to design repairs or modifications from inception through to design changes
  • Maintain compliance with Customer Communication Policies.

Provide interpretation of existing approved repair/maintenance/overhaul data and applicable regulations required.

Perform record-keeping functions effectively and in accordance with all Cascade Aerospace policies and procedures and customers policies and procedures.

Become familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with Cascade Aerospace’s Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required.

Core Skills

 

  • Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written English
  • Transport Canada AME License or Transport Canada or DND delegation is preferred
  • Specific skill and knowledge in performing manufacturing, maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft or systems and components
  • Excellent understanding of commercial aircraft practices and repair design
  • Ability to be tactful and diplomatic in interactions with others
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Ability to ensure that approved standards of Quality Control are maintained
  • Proven ability to communicate in a constructive manner; explaining processes, negotiating around difficult areas and providing a positive working environment
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Catia or Solidworks

Education

 

  • Aeronautical Engineering Degree, Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent
  • Aviation Repair Techniques course
  • Transport Canada Aviation Rules and Regulations course

Experience

 

  • 1-2 years' experience in customer service environment and aircraft maintenance or manufacturing floor support
  • 3-5 years' experience with transport category aircraft in aircraft structures and/or design, ideally with experience in liaison role
