Job Description
Reporting to the Accounting Lead, the Accountant handles general accounting functions to ensure the accurate allocation, collection and reconciliation of costs and expenditures within Cascade Aerospace's accounting system.
This position requires immediate Controlled Goods clearance, therefore, only Canadian Residents or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.
Major Responsibilities & Duties

- Assist internal and external customers in fulfilling their responsibilities.

- Perform general accounting duties and functions accurately, independently and in accordance with Cascade Aerospace policies and procedures.
- Prepare cash receipts, and all banking entries.
- Prepare, monitor and report on bank balances.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for our US and CAD accounts.
- Process employee expense reports.
- Support the AP & AR functions as required.
- Perform in month-end financial accounting procedures and reconciliations in accordance with the Company’s financial department policies and procedures.
- Keep the finance team on track with month-end timeline.
- Conduct GL reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and working papers.
- Prepare governmental remittances for PST, GST, QST and payroll taxes.
- Maintain Capital Spend spreadsheets on monthly basis.
- Run monthly Capture.
- Review & Process company AMEX/Visa Statements.
- Provide Financial and Costing Analysis.
- Support in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and the package.
- Perform other duties as required.
Core Skills
- Excellent communication skills: fluent written and verbal English is mandatory
- Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and/or other Accounting and Project specific software
- Proven competency in Numeracy using graphical information and numerical information
- Good knowledge of an ERP is an asset
- Proven competency in using Information Technology
- Desire to work in an energetic high performance team environment
- Willingness to adapt to a changing environment
- Proven attention to detail, without losing the big picture
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
Education
- An accounting/finance diploma or degree is required
- Working towards CPA designation is an asset
Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in financial and cost accounting is preferred
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset
Compensation Data
$55k/yr - $60k/yr
