Job Description

 

The Operations Controller supports the managing of the Finance department, providing a variety of financial services and guiding and supervising others. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Operations Controller will play a key role in the vairous financial functions including financial planning, management reporting, and budgeting and cost accounting activities.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Strive to consistently act in a manner in which reflects Cascade Aerospace's culture and values
  • Financial & Project Management:
    • Work directly with inter-departmental project teams, including working with leaders within the Operations and Programs departments
    • Supervise and manage the revenue recognition for all the Company's programs by utilizing Percentage Completion Accounting Accruals and Earned Value Management systems
    • Manage the billings (invoicing) for all the Company programs including Milestone and Over & Above Invoicing
    • Manage the budgeting and forecasting of Company programs
    • Develop spreadsheets and financial mechanisms to create, forecast and track budgets
    • Maintain appropriate internal financial controls
  • Supervision:
    • Supervise Financial Analysts and Budget Analysts
    • Delegate and set task priorities, coach staff on new procedural changes and troubleshoot any problems that occur
    • Ensure all assigned tasks and conduct is in accordance with Cascade Aerospace Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures
    • Review work in order to ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Other related duties as required

Core Skills

 

  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal; English is mandatory
  • Must enjoy and be interested in working with others and working within a team environment
  • Working knowledge of 'Percent Completion Revenue Recognition'
  • Advanced computer skills: MS Office Suite, Strong Excel skills
  • Strong aptitude for business systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy

Education

  • Degree in Financial Management
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) required

 

Experience

  • 5+ years Supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in ERP systems
