Job Description

The Project Modification Lifecycle Specialist supports the Project Management Office (PMO) with a range of tracking, coordinating, and documenting activities across the program management lifecycle. The primary function will be to support modifications bridging both the Avionics (AVS) and Primary Air Vehicle (PAV) contracts. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Specialist is responsible for providing the Project Manager with inputs to, and or maintaining for each modification, the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). 

This position requires immediate Controlled Goods clearance, therefore only Canadian Residents or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provides direct support to the PMO on each modification schedule performance
  • Creates and maintains resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) 
  • Gathers inputs for modification Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews
  • Conduct schedule analysis with Project team members
  • Maintains, analyzes, and reports on IMS data for internal status to the PMO
  • Maintains each modification TRACK document
  • Maintains and updates schedule management processes/work instructions
  • Collects inputs for each modification project IMS from each of the five elements:
    • Program Management
    • Engineering Support
    • Maintenance Support
    • Materiel Support
    • Technical Information Support
  • Other duties as required.

  • Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written English
  • Confidence and professionalism to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and peers
  • Strong understanding of Scheduling disciplines and methodologies
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced problem solving skills, including effective problem solving approaches
  • Thorough understanding of Continuous Improvement programs & initiatives
  • Ability to take initiative with minimum supervision
  • Proven experience in risk assessments and validating assumptions
  • Strong computer skills: Excel, and database programs

Education

  • Diploma in Business or Project Management preferred.
  • Certification in Scheduling software such as MS Project
  • PMP Certification an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' Scheduling experience
  • Project management background an asset
  • Advanced experience with MS Office Suite (MS Project, Excel), ERP and databases
  • Experience with project set up and effective use of the ERP system considered an asset
