The Opportunity:

Harding Medical is seeking a Service Technician to join our team in Charlottetown, PEI. If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and take pride in helping others, we'd love to hear from you.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for installation and repair of rehab and home health care equipment.
  • Discuss equipment problems with operator to determine the nature of the malfunction.
  • Test fault equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Test electronic components and circuits to locate defects.
  • Replace defective components and adjust mechanical parts.
  • Perform home renovations and site prep for accessibility installations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of service work performed.
  • Manage company assets effectively including parts inventory, tools, test equipment and business expenditures per company policy or procedure.
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to.
  • Attend training classes whether held on customer site, in-house or at any other location determined by supervisor and/or management.
  • Actively participate in personal upgrading in the form of continuing education and training to keep pace with advancing technology.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Grade 12 Academic
  • 2–3 years of experience repairing home healthcare equipment is considered an asset. We also welcome applicants with mechanical repair experience from other industries and will provide training to support success in the role.
  • Familiarity with seating systems and rehabilitation products as well as knowledge of wheelchair/mobility product market and its suppliers would be considered an asset
  • Excellent mechanical abilities and experience with hand tools
  • Previous customer service and/or administrative experience would be considered an asset
  • Clean Driver’s abstract is essential, strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Criminal records check will be required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
