The Opportunity:
IMP Group International is searching for an Intermediate Software Developer to join our Corporate Information Technology department in Halifax, NS. If you are comfortable working within the Microsoft ecosystem, curious about enterprise-scale data environments, and enjoy collaborating closely with both technical and business stakeholders, we’d love to hear from you!
This is an on-site role which offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to a wide range of meaningful projects, with the autonomy to explore ideas and help shape impactful solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and support applications using the Microsoft development toolset (DevOps, .NET, C#, SQL Server, React, Typescript, Data warehouse tools such as Analysis Services, MS Azure, MS Fabric, Power BI).
- Build and maintain data integrations and reporting solutions using SQL, Power BI, real-time API calls, and data warehouse technologies.
- Contribute to DevOps practices including source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Azure Foundry) to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation.
- Build solutions on enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- JD Edwards development and support.
- Work closely with application support, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, secure solutions.
- Consider security, performance, reliability, and data governance in application and data architecture decisions.

What You Need to Succeed:
- Post secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of professional software development experience, with meaningful exposure to the Microsoft development stack
- Experience working in large, multi division organizations, across multiple Microsoft tenants and network domains with shared services and Microsoft platforms, solutions and services
- Exposure to regulated or security sensitive environments (defence, aerospace, government, financial services)
- Employ secure development practices (OWASP) that are aligned with enterprise and Aerospace and Defence industry standards
- Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, ERP integrations, or payroll/finance systems
- Understanding of data governance, access controls, and audit requirements
- Ability to document solutions clearly for operational support and compliance purposes
- Experience with data integrations
- Ability to pass relevant government security clearances (i.e., Public Services and Procurement Canada, Level II (Secret) with the Department of National Defense, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing development work with production support.
