Jump on Ship! The Opportunity:

At Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, we have an immediate opening for a Cook! If you are an experienced and customer focused Cook with a positive attitude and willingness to grow and develop, we want you!

What You Will Do:

 

  • Follow the leadership of the Executive Chef, providing a top-quality product that meets and exceeds guests’ expectations
  • Produce the orders from the dining room and room service in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist to open or close the front line according to established procedures
  • Preparation and set up of the line, having all mis in place according to prep list
  • Maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment+
  • Prepare and cook all orders according to standards, within the established time guidelines

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Diploma or equivalent from an accredited culinary program
  • Registered Apprentice would be an asset
  • 2 years Culinary experience as a line cook in a busy environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to be a team player are a must
  • Willingness to learn and take on multiple tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to show initiative and handle problems without guidance
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours
  • Must be able to speak, write and read the English language
