Jump on Ship! The Opportunity:

At Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, we have an immediate opening for a Housekeeping Evening Porter! If you are dependable, proactive individual with proven general repair and cleaning experience to become the liaison between Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments, we want you!

What You Will Do:

• Maintain the cleanliness of pool area/hot tub, fitness center, and washrooms.
• Close pool area.
• Liaise with Housekeeping on check list of areas to clean during shifts.
• Remove rubbish, recycling and composting from hotel and brings to collection area.
• Respond to calls from the Front Desk via walkie-talkie for guest deliveries.
• Cut/ pile and deliver wood to chalets.
• Lock exterior doors during the evening walkthrough.
• Do complete inspection of all the property during shift.
• Answer any small guest issues like door locks, clogged toilets, tv/heat usage.
• Complete mechanical room walkthroughs to ensure all is working properly.
• Assist other departments with odd jobs requiring physical labour.
• Preform routine maintenance tasks, including painting.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Proven experience in cleaning and minor repair
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Valid drivers licence
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing and able to work weekends, Evenings and Holidays
